Canyon Lands

I went to Canyon Lands National Park with my Dad from May 17-19.  We went out to look for Frogs and Toads.  We drove a long while on a dirt road to find this little river in the middle of the desert.

While we were out looking for the amphibians I found a cougar foot print about three days old.  This made us very wary the rest of the night.  We found and caught a Red Spotted Frog and a Woodhouses Toad, and heard a Canyon Tree Frog.  They were making quite a ruckus ^_^ silly Frogs.  And here's some pretty lichen!  (I'm a little obsessed with this stuff ^_^)...

We also stopped off at a place I like to call Coyote Rock...

Can you see why?  It's kind of fun.  :)  When I first saw this place I heard a coyote howl and then I looked up and this is what I saw.  I also found this cool mushroom near by.  It's not really a mushroom it's a Golden Morel.  :)

And this is Beef Basin.  There were lots of cows there!

That night it rained and when we woke up the next morning we were out walking along the river when we came across Bear tracks, brand spankin new!  They had to have been at most hours old o.O...  Freaky for sure.
